Ministry of Economic Affairs — PricePal

The Ministry of Economic Affairs needed to give Bahamian citizens visibility into prices for essential consumer goods — food, household items, and basic necessities — across retailers. No off-the-shelf solution met the national requirements: government data sovereignty, integration with retailer data sources, Ministry-controlled reporting, and a consumer-facing interface accessible to all citizens. The Ministry needed a technology partner who could not only build the platform but operate and evolve it under government SLA requirements.

We worked directly with the Ministry to define requirements: data sources, product categories, retailer participation model, reporting needs, and citizen-facing experience. We designed and built PricePal from the ground up — data collection pipelines that normalize pricing data from multiple retailer formats, a product and retailer management backend for the Ministry, and a consumer-facing comparison interface accessible via web and mobile. Novio Group operates the platform on an ongoing basis under a formal SLA, handling data ingestion, system maintenance, feature development, and reporting to the Ministry.
